Regional Partnerships

The Big Sky Carbon Sequestration Partnership is one of seven regional partnerships working under the National Energy Technology Laboratory’s (NETL) Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership (RCSP). The RCSP is a joint government and industry program working towards producing viable carbon capture and storage technologies that mitigate carbon emissions and global climate change. In addition, the regional partnerships are responsible for preparing and implementing validation and regulatory procedures. Each region is involved with establishing local and regional infrastructure for carbon sequestration via field research, pilot testing, analytical modeling, and public outreach programs, all of which are designed to produce the “best practices” for the capture and storage of carbon.
