The Montana Contractors’ Association (MCA) in conjunction with Big Sky Economic Development, Montana Petroleum Association and Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson (KL&J) announced on January 9, 2012 the four organizations will jointly host Montana Energy 2012, on April 3-4, 2012 at the Expo Center at MetraPark in Billings, Montana.
The two-day comprehensive energy conference and tradeshow will uncover opportunities for energy development throughout Montana. The event brings together industry leaders to discuss fossil fuels, the future of alternative energy resources and the impact energy development brings to Big Sky Country. To date, over 100 booths of the 300 available in the tradeshow are committed.
“Energy development represents the largest potential source of economic opportunity and construction jobs in Montana for the foreseeable future,” according to Cary Hegreberg, MCA executive director. “We’re pleased to be a partner and bring local businesses together with energy companies that will be expanding into Montana.”
Steve Arveschoug, executive director of Big Sky Economic Development, based in Billings, said businesses in the area want to know how they can better connect to opportunities presented by energy development, “Montana, and Billings in particular, is primed to seize opportunities all around us – from oil, coal, gas and wind development. We’re right in the middle of the action.” KL&J, a leading engineering firm in the Upper Great Plains, continues to recognize the opportunities energy development brings to the state. KL&J’s Chief Executive Officer, Niles Hushka stated, “KL&J is excited for the opportunity to co-sponsor a forum allowing industry leaders to discuss Montana’s potential in energy development and the impact development has on the state.”
Energy industry representatives, suppliers of goods and services, contractors, local government officials and economic development professionals are encouraged to participate in the two-day event. Dave Galt, executive director of Montana Petroleum Association said “The montanaenergy.net event is an excellent means to uncover oil and gas activity, discuss potential jobs and the opportunities in the energy industry and the state.”
